Thats right! Just got word that James Kempf (JFK78) went 9.96 right off the trailer. People said that he had tears in his eyes because it had never been done before. He is the first to have a Vitara single cam , Street car run 9's... Then on the 2nd pass he goes and runs a 9.86 @151.

Just .01 away from the record of quickest single cam on the Planet. But that time was done in a "HotRod" car.

Congrats to James & the entire SpeedFactory crew.

Maybe they can get one more run in tonight.

Thanks guys! It's been a long road to get here, but very rewarding. :)

Just to clarify though, this is not the world's fastest D16. Both Mike Ortiz (8.94 @ 165mph) and Maxwell (9.11 @ 158mph) are quicker and faster.

They are full out Hotrod cars though (lexan, 26 & 28" tires, methanol, liquid-to-air IC, wheelie bars, fiberglass doors/hatch, 1-piece front ends, etc) that is the big difference.

My car is a street class car - 24.5" tire, full glass, gas, air-to-air IC, interior from the B-pillar forward, etc. It is the worlds fastest D16 street class car, and also ranks 3rd on the all-time list behind Ortiz and Maxwell's hotrod cars.

SO when are you free to fly to the east coast and tune my shit man LOL. $1000 for plane, tuning, and whatever and a couch to sleep on!
