View Full Version : Which harness/ECU/distributor for my swap?

I've got a '93 DX hatch.
I'm swapping in a '99 Ls B18.
I got it from a guy who, supposedly, already converted all the wiring to go into HIS '93 DX, with the DX ECU, but changed his mind and went K swap.
It doesn't come with an ECU and I'm not sure I trust his wiring.
I still have my '93 DX engine harness, ECU and distributor, as well as a '95 Integra Ls ECU and distributor.

My questions are,
Can I use my '93 DX harness on the '99 Ls B18?
If I can use my DX harness, which ECU and distributor should I use?
Are there any other parts I should get from the '95 Ls?
Are there any other modifications I need to do to make this all work?

Thanks for reading this and any help would be greatly appreciated.

well, your harness is a obd1, and since the engine is a 95, it'll possibly be a obd1 as well... if that's the case i see no problem in using the 93 harness for the swap, afaik. now if it happens that the engine is obd2 the story is different.

NO. The engine is a '99 and the harness, supposedly, has been converted to run off the '93 DX ECU.
I'm just not sure if I trust his wiring.
I have access to a '95 ECU and distributor.

BTW, Hail deddth and thanks for any help. lol

oh sorry, i misread.

well afaik you gotta convert the obd1 harness to use it in a obd2 engine... plugs are different.

someone please chime in if i'm incorrect. let's give a hand to the guy.

OK, so if I use the harness he's already converted, would there be any advantages (better mapping, etc.) to using the '95 Ls ECU, instead of the '93 DX ECU?

Like I said, it already has a harness that he converted to work in a '93 DX with a DX ECU, it's just sloppily done with butt connectors covered with electrical tape, so I'm kinda scared of it.

Maybe, I should just solder and heat shrink all his splicing.

I hope I'm not being confusing.
I just want to run the best, most trouble free set up, with what I have.

so really just get a stock normal harness from a OBDII integra and it will work fine
