I'm planning on going with GC coilovers, but was wondering if I should go with the Bilstein HD or Sport Shocks. I'm only planning on doing a 0.5-1.0" drop since the roads here are terrible.

HDs are designed for near stock ride height while the Sports are design with atleast 1" drops in mind.
The Sport shocks have a shorter shaft, but other than that they're identical.

Thanks for the info, I just found a link saying the sports are good for 1" drop, but I didn't find anything saying if the HD could handle 0.05" or up to 1" drop, the Bilstein site is pretty vague.

Yeah, I've got a lot of VW and BMW friends and obviously Bilsteins are popular amongst them.
Using the HDs would be like using any other shock that's 'not designed' for lowering.
The Sports will give you that extra inch before bottoming out the shock.

Bilsteins are very good. I've ridden n a few Hondas with them. They seem to hold up very well to abuse, as long as you don't drop too far with them.

Any idea if those were the HD or Sport series? How many inches were those cars dropped?
