I have a b18c in a 96 civic and I am having some electronic issues. The car will just shut off driving down the road, I think its ignition related because sometimes it will skip before it shuts off. I was driving today and it stared skipping and acting up, then I tried to switch it off and it keep running for like 30 seconds after the key was off (not dieseling but running). Someone told me it may be a bad distributor, any ideas? It also does all this with a check engine light. Thanks.

i had a similar problem on my 99 hatch i was driving and all of a suden pftttttt the car went dead and the problem was the harness that goes to the ignition switch(were u put the key to start the car) that harness come with some type of factory defect 96-00 got one at a honda shop and no problems since

I would look at the ignition switch also. Next time it happens, try wiggling the key in the switch and see if it changes how it runs. The second thing to look at would be the dizzy. Does the tach jump around at all?
